Cosmetic Treatments for Vericose Veins
Sclerotherapy injections and phlebectomies, or varicose vein excisions often complement saphenous vein ablations.
Sclerotherapy is the process of injecting a solution into varicose and spider veins that causes them to close. This can be a gradual process to treat, and may require several treatments over a few weeks. There is very little discomfort with these injections and minimal recovery with a quick return to normal activities.
Ambulatory phlebectomies involve removing larger varicose veins through small slit like incisions in the skin. Surgical hooks are then used to remove the veins. Careful placement of the incision reduces scarring with both sclerotherapy and ambulatory phlebectomies. Compression stockings may need to be worn temporarily, but healing and recovery time is minimal.
Varicose and spider veins may recur over time and need retreatment, but because our providers are board certified vascular surgeons we provide comprehensive treatment of the condition at the source.
